During your hygienist appointment, we will carry out an examination to assess the overall health of your teeth and gums. If necessary, we will use 3D imaging, digital radiography, or perioscopy to see tooth anatomy below the gum line in magnified detail. These methods accurately assess tooth and gum health to determine whether you need treatment from our periodontists for gum disease. The procedures are minimally invasive – we want you to be as comfortable as possible throughout your visit.
We will then do a deep clean, scale, and polish, to remove any problematic bacterial deposits and leave your teeth feeling smooth and fresh. We will also advise you on the correct products and methods to care for your teeth at home.
